Goal milestone date calculator

Give your deadline a few stopping points. Spread checkpoints across calendar days, then move them to dates that fit your life.

Set your date range

Calendar dates only, years 0001–9999. Weekends count; time zones and daylight saving do not shift the dates. 1–24 checkpoints, excluding the start and deadline. One checkpoint creates two intervals. Every milestone needs a separate day.

How milestone dates are calculated

The total is the number of calendar days from start to deadline, excluding the starting day. With c intermediate checkpoints there are c + 1 intervals. Checkpoint i falls at start + round(i × total days ÷ (c + 1)). Fractions round to the nearest whole day; exact halves round toward the deadline.

Two equal intervals

January 1 to January 11 is 10 days. Choose one intermediate checkpoint: 10 ÷ 2 = 5, so it falls on January 6. The start and deadline stay fixed.

When days do not divide evenly

January 1 to January 6 is 5 days. With one checkpoint, 5 ÷ 2 = 2.5 rounds forward to 3 days: January 4. The intervals become 3 and 2 days. Too many checkpoints for the available dates are rejected instead of sharing a day.

Turn a date into a review

Decide what you want to review at each checkpoint: a draft, a practice session, or your next small step. Adjustments change the spacing; they do not change the deadline or create tasks or reminders.
