Weekly time budget planner

A week has 168 hours. Give your commitments a place, then see what is left for the goals you want to pursue.

Where does your week go?

Enter hours per week, up to 2 decimal places (7.5 means 7 hours 30 minutes). Empty hours count as zero. Rename any category; blank names use “Category” and its row number.

Make room before making a commitment

Count each hour once

Multiply a daily commitment by 7 to get weekly hours. If you listen to a course during travel, count that time in one category rather than both. This is a planning worksheet, not automatic tracking.

A worked weekly budget

For example: sleep 56, work 40, care 21, travel 7, commitments 28 and goals 8 total 160 hours. That leaves 168 − 160 = 8 hours. Change goals to 18 and the total becomes 170: a 2-hour deficit. These are sample allocations, not a recommended schedule.

Adjust what does not fit

A deficit means your entries exceed the budget; nothing is silently rescaled. Reduce or defer a commitment, or check for double counting. A zero balance leaves no buffer. Remaining hours are unallocated time, not a productivity score.

The budget always represents seven 24-hour days, not a calendar week in a particular timezone. Daylight-saving changes do not alter this worksheet. Hours are summed exactly to hundredths; use a period for decimals. Each entry supports up to 12 whole digits.
