Strides or free goal and habit worksheets?

Strides is a goal and habit tracking app with four tracker types and reminders. GoalifyNow’s free SMART goal worksheet, milestone date calculator, and printable habit tracker are browser tools that produce a plan you print, copy, or download. One tracks progress over time; the other helps you write the plan down.

This page compares Strides with GoalifyNow’s free browser tools, not with the GoalifyNow app. Strides facts come from Strides’ official pages, checked on 22 October 2026, and are linked below. Its official pages do not list prices, so check the app store listing before you subscribe.

The short answer

  • Choose Strides if you want to log progress toward targets on your phone, with charts, reminders, and different tracker types for habits, averages, and projects.
  • Choose the free worksheets if you want to define a goal clearly, split a deadline into milestones, and keep the plan on paper or in a spreadsheet without installing anything.
  • Use both if it helps: write the goal with the SMART worksheet, then enter the target in whichever tracker you use day to day.

Where Strides is the better fit

Strides is built for tracking progress over weeks and months. A Target tracker follows a value toward a date, an Average tracker follows an average over time, and a Project tracker covers milestones. Reminders and saved history do work that a printed sheet cannot. If you want your phone to keep score, the free worksheets are not a substitute.

Where the free worksheets are the better fit

Many goals stall before tracking starts, because the goal is vague. The SMART worksheet asks why the goal matters, how you will recognize progress, and what counts as finished, then lets you edit and print the statement. The milestone calculator splits a deadline into dated checkpoints you can print or download as CSV. The habit tracker gives you a paper grid for the daily action. These suit classrooms, coaching sessions, and anyone who prefers a written plan.

The trade-off: nothing is saved between visits and nothing reminds you. Print or download before you close the page.

What about the GoalifyNow app?

GoalifyNow also has an account-based app that connects goals with daily habits. It is a separate product from these free tools, and this page does not compare it with Strides feature by feature. Read about the existing goal and habit features or try the public habit starter without signing up. Sheets and downloads from the free tools are not imported into it automatically.
